Clinical United claim late win against Brighton

Brighton open the scoring in the first half through Neil Maupay’s penalty after a clumsy challenge by Bruno Fernandes which brought down Tariq Lamptey in the penalty area at the American Express Community Stadium. Few minutes later, the visitor put one back through Fernandes free kick in which Nemanja Matic directed the ball into the box and Lewis dunk sends the ball into his own net. Shortly after the restart, the home team were awarded a penalty after Midfielder Paul Pogba brought down Aaron Connolly in the penalty area but the referee cancelled the penalty after a lengthy check on the video assistant referee (VAR) monitor to relieve the pressure on the away team.
