Liverpool football club claimed a comfortable win against Chelsea at Stamford bridge through Sadio Mane's  goals on Sunday.

The Senegalese forward open the scoring in the second half with a lovely finish after a fine football between Alexander Arnold and Roberto Firmino at the right hand side of the pitch, which the  Brazilian (Firmino) made no mistake by providing an inviting cross into the path of Mane in the 18 yard box and the Senegalese head it into the back of the net.

Few minutes later, Mane pressed forward to charge the Chelsea defence and luckily the Blues made a silly mistake through Kepa Arizabalaga who gave the ball to cheaply in a dangerous position which allowed the forward to put the game to bed.

The home team were given a glorious opportunity to score a consolation goal after new signing Timo Werner was fouled in the penalty area by new signing Thiago Alcantara in the 75th minutes.

Chelsea wasted the opportunity to pull one back from the spot kick after Allison Becker from the away team parried Jorginho's shot from the penalty spot to relieve the pressure.

This is the second consecutive season that Chelsea has lost to Liverpool at Stamford bridge in the English premier League, last season the away team put the game to bed courtesy to Firmino's header and Arnold's free kick goal in the first half.

The home team will be hoping for all  their new signings to be fully fit in time as Hakim Ziyek, Ben chilwell and Thiago Silva remain sideline with different injury problem.

According to football.london, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard reacted to the 2-0 loss while addressing  Journalists  by saying " Willy Caballero is going to play, that was always going to happen prior to today. We just have to keep working. Nobody tries to make mistakes in football.

"I haven't had anything on the Mendy deal. On Rudiger, we have five centre-backs in the squad, I can't have three centre-backs in the squad.

"Tomori did really well and he hasn't played for a while. I hope he feels the trust in him. I have got confidence in him.

"There will be times against a team like Liverpool you have to be solid, we have had little time on the training pitch. We will get better and better.

"I don't think you can make judgements which are tight for half a game. I was pleased with the work a spirit. There is a lot for us" he stated.
