BRACE UP 2023: Responses from Students to Cultural Day Event

 


Students of the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ) has reacted to the cultural day event, tagged "BRACE UP 2023".


The event which took place at the school hall witnessed both present and past students of the Institution and also representative of media organisations.


According to a student of National Diploma 2(part time), Adebanji Ayomide who said that the cultural programme was very good and expect a better one next session.


“I think this program is very very good because I never expect such a thing, as in all the presentation is very dope especially the Igbo, the Yoruba and the Hausa tribe.In fact the costume I never think they can they could get the costume.


“So far so good I don’t think there’s anything they need to add but you know yearly things get upgraded , I hope for a better one next session so that’s what I think, thanks" he said.


Another student of Higher National Diploma three(3), Mariam Garba made her opinion known saying that the cultural day was awesome and everything about it was enjoyable, but stressed that Yoruba and Igbo cultural group were given more time to perform on stage while Hausa group were given less time which made her felt somehow.


“The cultural day today, it was awesome, I love it and I really enjoyed everything about it.


“I learn like , you know I’m not Yoruba and I’m not Igbo either and at least the only thing that make me to feel somehow is that, you know you’ve given Yoruba and igbo time, so I don’t know the problem, Hausas, I didn’t see any drama, they didn’t do, I didn’t see any drama from at least they suppose to like since how the Igbo and Yorubas did something so at least we too they have to, but I don’t know whether, maybe they did not planning.


“I ask her she said they did not plan it , so I told her anytime she’s doing something for Hausa, she should let me know but since this is the first time I really enjoy everything so next time we’re going to plan plan plan by God’s Grace” she said.
