Florida got "Very lucky" with Dorian Says Donald Trump
President Trump spoke Wednesday afternoon about the state of the Dorian and the destruction left behind in the Bahamas.
Based on the original projections for the storm, "We got lucky in Florida. Very, very lucky, indeed," Trump said from the White House.
"We had actually our original chart was that it was going to be hitting Florida directly," Trump said. "It was going to be hitting directly and that would have affected a lot of other states. And it took a right turn and ultimately, hopefully, we're going to be lucky."
Trump said the Bahamas "was hit like few people have seen before." The Bahamas government has asked for help from the US, which has "numerous helicopters and we're sending some people to give them a hand," Trump said.
The administration will have more on what to expect in South Carolina and North Carolina as the storm moves toward the US.
"It's heading up the coast. We'll have a report on that," Trump said.
