BRACE UP 2023: Responses from Students to Cultural Day Event

  Students of the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ) has reacted to the cultural day event, tagged "BRACE UP 2023". The event which took place at the school hall witnessed both present and past students of the Institution and also representative of media organisations. According to a student of National Diploma 2(part time), Adebanji Ayomide who said that the cultural programme was very good and expect a better one next session. “I think this program is very very good because I never expect such a thing, as in all the presentation is very dope especially the Igbo, the Yoruba and the Hausa tribe.In fact the costume I never think they can they could get the costume. “So far so good I don’t think there’s anything they need to add but you know yearly things get upgraded , I hope for a better one next session so that’s what I think, thanks" he said. Brighton open the scoring in the first half through Neil Maupay’s penalty after a clumsy challenge by Bruno Fernandes which brought down Tariq Lamptey in the penalty area at the American Express Community Stadium. Few minutes later, the visitor put one back through Fernandes free kick in which Nemanja Matic directed the ball into the box and Lewis dunk sends the ball into his own net. Shortly after the restart, the home team were awarded a penalty after Midfielder Paul Pogba brought down Aaron Connolly in the penalty area but the referee cancelled the penalty after a lengthy check on the video assistant referee (VAR) monitor to relieve the pressure on the away team. The Senegalese forward open the scoring in the second half with a lovely finish after a fine football between Alexander Arnold and Roberto Firmino at the right hand side of the pitch, which the  Brazilian (Firmino) made no mistake by providing an inviting cross into the path of Mane in the 18 yard box and the Senegalese head it into the back of the net. Few minutes later, Mane pressed forward to charge the Chelsea defence and luckily the Blues made a silly mistake through Kepa Arizabalaga who gave the ball to cheaply in a dangerous position which allowed the forward to put the game to bed. The home team open the scoring in the 11th minute through Masoabi Nkoto after a poor defending by the Nigerian defence. Few minutes later, the Super Eagles scored two goals in twelve minute through Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze to put them on the brink of claiming another three point. After the restart of the second half, the away team were too strong for their opponent as they scored in the 75th and 85th minute through Lille's striker Victor Osimhen to make it 1-4 at the Setsoto Stadium in Maseru. Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga discusses Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea's mood after being dropped Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalagaa has insisted there is a good atmosphere with Spain teammate David de Gea, despite displacing the Manchester United No.1 in the national team. Kepa started in goal for Spain in their 2-1 win over Romania in Bucharest last night (Thursday), making an outstanding last-minute save to deny Goerge Puscas.
